Rotary Club of Curaçao (RCC) together with Stichting Help de Schoolkinderen van
Curaçao unloaded a 40-foot container with over 360 donated school desks and chairs at
recipient school Kolegio Bellefaas Martis. This project was executed in collaboration with
Dutch Rotary Clubs of Oldenzaal and Neede.

October last year, Mrs. Liesbeth Pieké of Rotary Club of Oldenzaal, reached out to Rotary
Club of Curaçao to startup this collaborative effort to get good condition secondhand
school furniture of the Nutsschool voor basisonderwijs in Oldenzaal, Netherlands, to
Curaçao. Rotary Club of Curaçao (RCC) enthusiastically took on the lead of this project,
with the brunt of the required monetary contribution and the hands-on unloading of the
container. RCC involved both the Rotary Club of Neede, through Mrs. Brechtje Haverkate,
and the Stichting Help de Schoolkinderen van Curaçao, to help with this project.

Rotary Clubs of Oldenzaal and Neede and representatives of Stichting Help de
Schoolkinderen van Curaçao in the Netherlands loaded the furniture into the container,
that was shipped and arrived on Curaçao last December. Stichting Help de
Schoolkinderen van Curaçao, based in Curacao, coordinated all operational aspects of
overseas and local transportation.

Rotary Club of Oldenzaal and Rotary Club of Neede, apart from their hands-on efforts,
also provided a monetary contribution towards covering the significant shipping
expenses. The experience, professionalism, and passion of Stichting Help de
Schoolkinderen van Curaçao was indispensable for the successful execution of this
project. During the tour at Kolegio Bellefaas Martis last Thursday, representatives of the
organizations involved took notice that this project truly satisfied the urgent need of their
350+ students.

Sincere gratitude goes to Rotary Club of Oldenzaal, Rotary Club Neede, Stichting Help
de Schoolkinderen van Curaçao and members of the Rotary Club of Curacao for the
excellent collaboration.
