Donation Policy of "Rotary Club of Curaçao"

Rotary Club of Curaçao has established a set of guidelines for organizations and individuals seeking donations. Donations are made available for charitable activities which have a clear ability to improve and benefit the local community. Financial support covers a broad range of activities, projects, and events.

 

In general, donations are made to:

  • Organizations which provide the opportunity to those most in need, to improve their abilities to overcome their disadvantaged position
  • Organizations which provide services for those who may have been denied a quality of life enjoyed by the majority.
  • Groups which give their time and resources to helping social problems
  • Community organizations which offer their services for the benefit or enjoyment of the public and contribute to community well being.
We generally do not give donations for:
  • Salaries or wages
  • Operating costs
  • Organizations run for private profit
  • Overseas trips

Disease prevention and treatment:        

  • Improving the capacity of local health care professionals
  • Promoting disease prevention programs, with the goal of limiting the spread of communicable diseases and reducing the incidences of and complications from non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes, heart disease, cholesterol, etc.)
  • Enhancing the health infrastructure of local communities
  • Educating and mobilizing communities to help prevent the spread of major diseases
  • Preventing physical disability resulting from disease or injury
  • Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to disease prevention and treatment

Basic education and literacy:   

  • Involving the community to support programs that strengthen the capacity of communities to provide basic education and literacy to all 
  • Increasing adult literacy in communities
  • Working to reduce gender disparity in education
  • Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to basic education and literacy
  • Projects should be based on Curaçao​

Economic and community development: 

  • Building the capacity of entrepreneurs, community leaders, local organizations, and community networks to support economic development in impoverished communities
  • Developing opportunities for productive work
  • Reducing poverty in under-served of our communities 
  • Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to economic and community development

  • International projects
  • Rotary Club of Curaçao also financially supports projects executed across different countries, in partnership with Rotary Clubs in those countries.
